The only permanent lasting solution to get rid of abdominal fat consistently is by implementing a diet that is very sound in its nutrition, and contains only unprocessed natural foods. It seems I see somebody new walk through the door on a daily basis who will start out with the typical cardio exercises that are really boring and ineffective, then throw in some targeted weight training exercises that they did back in high school which they still believe are effective, but really aren’t, then they’ll even start doing crunches and side bends and really think that they’re really doing something good for their abs. What this specifically means, is that you’re going have to get rid of all of the sugars and refined starches that are currently in your diet. A specifically nasty perpetrator which has to be gotten rid of is high fructose corn syrup since it is just dangerous. I agree that extra stomach fat is the hardest thing to shift! I find after having my daughter, I can tone up every part of my body quite successfully but my tummy is taking sooooo long to get back into shape. I like the idea of having a routine and a Can and Cannot eat list. Trying to lose weight without guidance is really like flying blind so being in an environment where you are given structure and help is so valuable!!


I had no idea that there are two different kinds of fat on the stomach. This article is quite frightening really because most people in my family and friends too, AND myself if I am really honest, could do with working on their stomachs. Reducing carb intake another great way to loose fat, especially around the belly area. My problem area is my thighs, so I guess I am lucky in that aspect that I don’t carry my weight in my stomach area.
